The Girl: A Black Tortoise Asterism
Key Star: Epsilon Aqr
The Girl Asterism, sometimes known as the "Maiden" has four stars. Ancient Chinese Astrologers interpreted the moon here as meaning the woman matters, or women at their work such as weaving. It is ruled by Saturn. A Portent would be:
Disputes and quarrels among the family, and fights troubling peace. Epidemics and illness, particularly diseases of the bowels.**
Early Arabian Astrologers call the Girl Al Sa'd al Bula and interpret her Portent as follows:
The Good Fortune of the Swallower. Causes divorces, liberty of captives and heals the sick. With Moon here, marry, sow, take medicine and lead an army.*
Ancient Indian Astrologers call her Sravrana and interpret her as:
Belonging to the lowest caste and favorable for commencing work of an impermanent or moving character. Those born on the lunar day will be cunning, active, bold, truthful, virtuous, religious and skilful. With Moon here at birth native will be rich, learned, famous, and have a good wife. Rules parade grounds and private parts.*
There is a star story about the Girl (or maiden and the Ox-boy. The romantic story is best told in a Tai Chi Chuan Center Newletter, a free and safe link.
