The Well: A Vermilion Bird Constellation
Key Star: Mu Gem (Mu Geminorium)
The "Well" has eight stars. Ancient Chinese Astrologers call it Heu, a well or pit ruled by the Sun.* When the moon passes through this constellation, a Portent would be:
It is fortunate to build, open doors, take examinations, or raise silkworms. Industrious labors in the garden, or digging ditches and watercourses, or the opening of new ways will in time bring great riches.**
Early Arabian Astrologers called the Well Al Sa'd al Su'ud and described this portent:
The Luckiest of the Lucky. Gives marital happiness, victory of soldiers but prevents the execution of government. With Moon here, build, marry, make friends and travel.*
Ancient Astrologers from India named the Well Sravishtha, and suggested the following portent:
A mutable asterism belonging to the serving caste and favorable for commencing work of an impermanent or moving character. Those born on the lunar day will be shameless, rich, generous, women haters and will have few friends. With Moon here at birth native will be wealthy, liberal, fond of music, valiant, niggardly. Rules mills and the excretory system.*
